70YOGA
Yoga is a great way to exercise the mind, body and spiritual parts of you. The Yoga method of exercise addresses parts of a person that no other form of exercise can reach. Many people think of Yoga as a 'far out' exercise that is tied only to Eastern Religions. Yoga's physical benefits are HUGE. The spiritual side can be custom designed by the user.
There are so many benefits of Yoga. I will attempt to address four main categories. While I attempt to give you a basic understanding of the benefits of Yoga, you need to know that I am in many ways skimming the surface. To learn more you'll need to research the topic on line or through books.
The Four Benefits of Yoga are Physical, Mental, Spiritual and Helping to Improve Physical Ailments.

Yoga for Elderly
BENEFITS FOR MEDICAL CONDITIONS
One of the great benefits of Yoga is that it is non strenuous. People dealing with physical ailments are often limited in their ability to exercise. For those afflicted by physical ailments such as arthritis, fibromyagia and other maladies. Yoga is perfect!
Yoga even addresses specific health problems such as:
- Digestive Disorders brought on by Stress
- Back pain
- Arthritis
- Diabetes
- Fibromyalgia
- Muscle Tension
Start with the natural approach to health problems ... at all costs avoid the crazy treadmill of running from physician to pharmacy and back again.
Yoga Poses
Yoga is Multifacited
Yoga is a much better option than medical treatment for caring for the mind, body and soul. I believe that for every medical condition there is a solution found in nature. It is up to us to find the natural solution. Yoga is a very natural method to maintain, enhance and increase health.
As you utilize the Yoga exercise methods you will be addressing the body, mind, soul and physical problems you may possess. Medications tax your liver and body and may add a ton of side affects to your already stressed system.
The benefits of Yoga are multifaceted. Search for local classes in your community. Make sure the flavor of the class matches your comfort level. The benefits of joining with others in your journey toward wholeness and health is the companionship and encouragement you will receive. Meeting and linking with other health-minded people will strengthen your commitment and resolve to take care of the one body you have total responsibility to care for.

I do a little of this yoga. I stand on my head occasionally. It's really a "parlor trick" to amuse other cyclists when things dull down. Thanks Mekenzie! Great hub!
My wife has been doing yoga for all our marriage (22yrs) and could talk to anyone for hours of its benefits. She only incorporates the physical aspect.
Mekenzie sis I think I'd probably end up snapping like a brittle old twig, if I tried doing some of those poses I'm seeing, but the hub itself is marvellous thanks my sister.
Dave.
Mekenzie, A great explanation of all the yoga benefits. I am just starting to learn and sure I can get in all those positions! But, you have to start at the beginning to learn so that's my plan. great hub.
But I wouldn't want to charge--lol So no time..I won't be living here much longer anyways--I may move soon when lease is up.
Nope. I don't know anybody here who would want to do this. One day I will though...I feel it. I am going to buy the dvd!
This was great Mekenzi! I should do this more--I always feel better-physically and spiritually--ahhhh the stretching helps too!
I was reading this and thinking...it would really be nice to learn all of the positions of yoga and then incorporate a Christian yoga group---something just makes me think this! Maybe one day I will do it!!! Love to you!
Thank you so much Mekenzie, I didn't know Yoga had so many benefits , Thank you for sharing . Blessings to you. creativeone59
Thank you MeKenzie...I have often wanted to try Yoga but was advised to steer clear because of the eastern "spiritual" factor of this exercise. I'm still not sure how one would switch one over for the other, but doing it to help my arthritis sounds so good. Something natural. I will have a look at some of the other sites you recommended.
Blessings to you
